Trip Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL IN CATANIA
After arriving in Catania via overnight flight, train ride to Milazzo (2.5 to 3 hour ride). After checking into the hotel we will head to the Cape of Milazzo to explore the Venus Pools (short hike). Free time to peruse Milazzo and enjoy a tasty Sicilian dinner
Day 2 Stromboli
Morning hydrofoil from Milazzo to Stromboli (approx. 2.5 hour ride), where you can choose from two different sunset activity options: Sciara Del Fuoco from the Sea (sunset boat ride and view of active volcano) or Sunset Hike to View the Active Volcano (difficult uphill hike). Overnight in Stromboli.
Day 3 vulcano to salina
Morning hydrofoil to Vulcano (1.5 hour ride), where you can take a short four mile hike to the summit of the sulfurous volcano. After enjoying the shops and a lunch at Vulcano port, we will take a hydrofoil to Santa Marina Salina (40 minute ride). Free time in the afternoon and evening.
Day 4 Salina
Hike of the summit of Fosse Dei Felici (8 mile hike). Choose from either an out and back or continue down into the Val Di Chiesa valley. Enjoy dinner in the port town of Rinella before catching the evening hydrofoil back to Santa Marina. Another option if you're not up for a hike is to take a bus ride to Lehi and short flat hike to the vlilage where Il Postino was filmed.
day 5 TAOrmina
Hydrofoil to Milazzo (1.5 hour ride), train to Taormina (2 to 2.5 hour ride). After checking in at our hotel, we will enjoy lunch by the beach after taking the funiculare down to the shore. Free time after lunch to settle in at hotel or wander around old Taormina town. Enjoy an evening walking tour - Taste of Taormina.
Day 6 Alcantara Gorge
Morning exploration at Alcantara Gorge, where you can choose to discover this beautiful gorge on your own or go cliff jumping/canyoneering with a group. Lunch at Toarmina-Giardini harbor where afterwards we enjoy an afternoon boat tour of the area. Free time to enjoy dinner on your own in Taormina or take a taxi up to Castelmola, and old town with a castle perched atop a plateau (which looks like a molar - the name translates to castle on the molar).
DAY 7 TAORMINA
If both activities on Day 6 would be too much in one day, you can split them up. Choose one for Day 6 and the other for Day 7. Enjoy free time to do what you want today - one thing that is a must-see is the Greek Theater. Be sure to make time for that.
DAY 8 TAORMINA
Excursion to Mount Etna. Unfortunately the summit is closed due to increased volcanic activity, however this hike up this volcano provides views of Sicily and the summit. Enjoy free time in the evening.
DAY 9 SYRACUSA
Group day trip to Syracusa. Syracuse was once one of the ancient world’s largest cities. Dive right into the city’s historic allure on this tour from Taormina, spending a day visiting archaeological sites and Ortygia, the island-neighborhood also known as Città Vecchia. Travel with a guide to learn more about the city’s millennia-old history than you would while visiting on your own, and return to Taormina in time for dinner.
DAY 10 AGRIGENTO
Group day trip from Taormina: Be surrounded by architectural treasures, in the most evocative sites of the ancient Greek age, walk the “Sacred way” and discover all the majestic beauties of its gigantic temples. Enjoy a typical lunch (drinks included) in the very nearby. Walk over one of the stunning “Scala dei Turchi”, listed by Tripadvisor in the top 10 beautiful shore sites of Italy, and swim in its crystal-clear water
